This here is a guide to the different occupations and such your character can be.
Breeder
Begins with two dragons
Probably the easiest of the occupations, breeders collect and cross-breed dragons. They may breed for appearance, stats, or if they want to take the work and gamble, even try to produce new, rare species from existing ones.
Eggs, hatchlings, and dragons/other creatures can be sold to other farms or players for money- this is the sub-source of money for breeders.
Showing Dragons- The main source of income for breeders is to enter Dragon shows, where dragons will be judged on appearance and temperament, as well as linage. Points are awarded to key features, with bonuses for store-purchased accessories, special markings, or mutations.
Trainer/Handler
Begins with one dragon
A trainer's ranch, although capable of breeding as well, focus solely on breeding for stats and strengths. The dragons hatch and raised on this farm are trained for battle, and then pitted against other dragons in the battledomes. The fight is done through RP, obviously, and a moderator will judge the battle, and find the winner based on quality of RP, and of course damages dealt out during the battle.
Farm Hand
Begins with one dragon
Not every character is cut out to run a farm, or may not be given the chance (ie, you already have a farm). These characters can be farm hands instead, and work on other player's farms to make a small income helping out with the duties at hand. It is, however, at the discretion of the farm owner who works for them, and when they no longer want the aid.
Racer
Begins with one dragon
Racers, much like trainers, specialize in breeding, or owning/training, the fastest dragons, and entering them in races.
Farm hand is a General Term! You don't have to be a farm hand, you MAY make a character that is a racer/trainer/shower, who does not have a farm!
More occupations will be added at later dates.
